The use of "mezz", "we", "us", "our", and "ours" refers to mezz, Inc., a Delaware, US Corporation, throughout this document.
This privacy policy describes our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of your information. We receive your information through our various websites, applications, API’s, services and from third-parties ("Services"). For example, when you authenticate using your Facebook login, we receive your information including your name, profile picture, email and other personal information from Facebook. This information may include the list of your friends, their names and their profile pictures. When using any of our Services you consent to the collection, transfer, manipulation, storage, disclosure and other uses of your information as described in this privacy policy.
Information Collection and Use
Registration: When you create an account, either directly or by authenticating through a third-party authentication service such as Facebook or Twitter, you provide some personal information, such as your name, username, password, picture, and email address. When you use a third-party authentication service for registration, such as Facebook or Twitter, you allow us to collect information about you from the third-party such as your name, picture, email address, other personal information, your list of friends, their names and their profile pictures. Some of this information maybe listed publicly on our services such as your username and picture. We may access the third-party authentication services to get updated information about you, using offline access, at future times including at regular intervals.
Content/Postings: Our services are primarily designed to help you share information with everyone publicly. Most of the information you provide to us is information you are asking us to make public. This includes the picture or photo, the message you enter, the time of the posting, and the location provided with this information. Your username and profile picture will also be publicly disclosed with this posting. This information can be posted on other third-party services such as Facebook or Twitter either by you or forwarded by other users of our services. The contents of the posting will be broadly and instantly disseminated publicly, including but not limited to our services, websites, search engines, third-party services, and websites and services provided by our partners, and others. You should be careful about all information you post including your location since all postings are public.
Profile Information: Profile information about yourself can be accessed publicly. This includes your username, your profile picture, the number of followers, the usernames and profile pictures of your followers, the number of following, the usernames and profile pictures of those following you, the number of likes you have earned on all of your postings, your position on leaderboards and your past postings. You should be careful about all information since all profile information is public.
Location Information: Each posting will contain the current location by default, or you can choose to provide an alternate location of your choice. This location information may disclose your exact location, and you should be careful about all location information you post since this information, just like the other parts of the postings, are broadly and instantly disseminated publicly. If you simply use the default location in your postings, someone can determine your current and the past locations you were present at and the exact time you were located at that location. Additionally, the camera you use to take photos or pictures may embed location information about the spot where the photo or picture was taken, and this information can also be easily retrieved by anyone if this photo is posted through our service. You should be careful about all location information and photos you post since all postings are public.
Log: Our servers automatically record information created by your use of our services. This information may include: your device information, the operating system of your device, your IP address, MAC address, browser type, operating system, domain name, access times and referring website addresses. This information is used for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of our services. We will keep this data for up to 18 months.
Cookies: When you use our website or services, a cookie is placed on your machine or device (if you accept cookies) or is read if you have visited the site previously. One use of cookies is to assist in the collection of the site visitation statistics described above.
We also use cookies to collect information on which links are clicked. This information is used to better understand how our users interact with our website and services.
Web beacons, also known as clear gif technology, or action tags, may be used to assist in delivering the cookie on our site. This technology tells us how many visitors clicked on key elements (such as links or graphics). We do not use this technology to access your personally identifiable information; it is a tool we use to compile statistics about usage of our websites and services. We may share aggregated site statistics with partner companies.
Third Party Services: We use a variety of services hosted by third parties to help provide our services, such as hosting our web servers, databases, various online help, customer forums, blogs and wikis, and to help us understand the use of our services, such as analytics software from other companies. These services may collect information sent by your browser as part of a web page request, such as cookies or your IP request.
Life of the Information: We may, at our discretion, store all of your postings and your profile information for an indefinite period of time even if you delete your account. The log data, as described above, will be maintained for up to 18 months.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Service Providers: We engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to us. We may share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these functions and provide such services, and only pursuant to obligations mirroring the protections of this privacy policy.
Law and Harm: We may preserve or disclose your information if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation or legal request; to protect the safety of any person; to address fraud, security or technical issues; or to protect our rights or property.
Non-Private or Non-Personal Information: We may share or disclose your non-private, aggregated or otherwise non-personal information, such as your postings, as outlined above.
Our Policy Towards Children
Our Services are not directed to people under 13. If you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at privacy@mezz.com. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we take steps to remove such information and terminate the child's account.
Changes to this Policy
We may revise this policy from time to time. The most current version of the policy will govern our use of your information and will always be at this location. If we make a change to this policy that, in our sole discretion, is material, we will notify you by placing a prominent notice on our website. By continuing to access or use our services after those changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised policy.
